# Accepting an invitation

If you've received an invitation, click the link in the email.

* **If you already have an i3D account** — you'll be taken to the sign-in page. Sign in with your usual credentials and you'll land in the organization you were invited to.
* **If you're new to i3D** — you'll be taken to the sign-up form with your email address already filled in. Once you've created your account you'll be a member of the organization automatically.
* **For an *****Import Organization***** invitation** — the email spells out that accepting will consolidate your account, its account number and its servers under the inviting organization. If you'd rather not, simply don't accept. See [Importing an organization](/organizations/importing-an-organization.md) for what changes.

There is no *Decline* button. Ignoring the email is enough — the invitation expires on its own.

## If the link doesn't work

| What you see | What it means |
| ------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| *This invitation link is incomplete* | The link was truncated. Open the most recent invitation email and try again, or ask for it to be resent. |
| *Invitation expired* | Ask the person who invited you to send a new one. |
| *Something went wrong* | Try again in a few minutes, or ask for a fresh invitation. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.i3d.net/organizations/accepting-an-invitation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
